Έχω αναφερθεί πολλές φορές στο μεταναστευτικό και στο ότι καμμία ελληνική κυβέρνηση δεν μπορεί να κάνει αυτά που φαντάζονται κάποιοι εδώ καθώς υπάρχει παγκόσμιο φιλομεταναστευτικό λόμπυ (στο οποίο μετέχουν όλοι σχεδόν οι καταγγέλλοντες ) που μπορεί να επιβάλει κυρώσεις.Η πολιτική κινείται ανάλογα με τις διεθνείς εξελίξεις,άλλη ήταν επί Μπάιντεν και άλλη τώρα που ανέλαβε ο Βορίδης λόγω Τραμπ ώστε να αποφεύγει τις κακοτοπιές.Η οικονομία εξαρτάται από τον τουρισμό και είναι ανάγκη να αποφευχθεί μία δυσφήμιση όπως επιδιώκουν οι Κοσσέδες.Ανάλογα με το διεθνές κλίμα γίνονται δεκτοί πρόσφυγες ή δεν γίνονται.

Πρώτον παραδέχεσαι οτι είσαστε μάστορες της κωλοτούμπας, δεύτερον παραδέχεσαι οτι το κριτήριο για το τί θα κάνετε, δεν είναι σε καμία περίπτωση τα συμφέροντα του ελληνικού λαού, αλλά το τί θα πούν τ' αφεντικά σας απ' την Αμερική.
Βεβαίως και υπάρχουν χώρες όπως η Ουγγαρία, η οποία ΜΙΑ πολιτική έχει για τους πρόσφυγες, και τη γουόουκ ατζέντα, και δε μπήκε σε καμία "κακοτοπιά", την οποία άλλωστε δε μας ορίζεις ποτέ, και αφήνεις μετέωρη ως κάποια απροσδιόριστη απειλή οτι θα μας βρεί κάποιο κακό αν δεν είμαστε φούλ γουοκατζήδες επί Μπιντέ, και φούλ σκληροί μπαντριώντεζ επί Τράμπα.
Αντίθετα με όσα λες, οι κακοτοπιές μας βρίσκουν όταν λειτουργούμε μ' αυτό το κωλοτουμπίστικό τρόπο, γιατί πολύ απλά κανείς δε μας παίρνει στα σοβαρά ως χώρα, και δικαίως μας θεωρούν ως μια μπανανία την οποία μπορούν να χρησιμοποιήσουν κάθε φορά όπως θέλουν.

More than two years have passed since her 19-year-daughter Marthi died, along with 56 others, in Greece’s worst railway disaster. Maria Karystianou has long since been transformed from grieving mother to the leader of a powerful protest movement demanding answers from a government it accuses of a cover-up.
Last November, however, came a revelation that shocked even her. Karystianou had initially been assured that Marthi, who was studying to become a special needs teacher, was killed instantly when InterCity 62, carrying 350 passengers, mainly in their teens and twenties, from Athens to Thessaloniki ploughed headfirst into a freight train.
A recording made by a passenger’s smartphone that had been transmitted to emergency services told a different story.

As Karystianou was played the recording by her lawyer, she immediately recognised the voice of Marthi’s best friend Francesca, with whom the teenager had been returning from a carnival in Patras, several hours away in the south.
“I could hear her talking to my daughter, saying, ‘Marthi, we are going to die, I love you’,” Karystianou, 52, told me as we sat in her fourth-floor flat in Thessaloniki, overlooking the Aegean Sea. At another point, Francesca said: “We have no oxygen.”
“For three horrible minutes Marthi was alive with her friend,” she added. “The recordings showed that people were not just alive but conscious and able to talk about what was happening to them.”
Moments later, two giant fireballs engulfed the train, killing the two girls and, it has been claimed, more than two dozen others who had survived the collision, which took place at 11.20pm on February 28, 2023, near the village of Tempi. When Karystianou was called three days later to identify Marthi, her daughter’s remains were burnt so badly she was unrecognisable.

For the friends and relatives of the victims, the confusion about how their loved ones died is only one of a list of unanswered questions that seems only to have grown since the disaster — about everything from the lack of basic safety procedures to the almost indecent haste with which the site was cleared by authorities, which may have compromised evidence.
Such questions are piling pressure on Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the centre-right prime minister, who was first elected in 2019 and won an absolute majority four months after the disaster, largely thanks to his success in putting the Greek economy back on track after a long financial crisis.
Recent polls have shown seven out of ten of his compatriots — including a substantial minority of supporters of Mitsokakis’s own New Democracy party — believe the government is guilty of covering up the fundamental cause of the disaster.
In a sign of mounting anger, an estimated 400,000 people attended a rally organised by the Association of Relatives of the Tempi Victims, the body headed by Karystianou, on the second anniversary of the crash — thought to be the largest protest since 1971, when Greece was still run by a junta. Upwards of 1.35 million people — more than one in eight of the population — have signed a petition to abolish the immunity from prosecution enjoyed by politicians.

Then, last weekend, a bomb exploded outside the headquarters of the Greek railway company in Athens. In an echo of the country’s turbulent political past, responsibility was claimed by a shadowy left-wing group, Revolutionary Class Struggle.
“The disaster was, tragically, an accident waiting to happen,” said Vassilis Ntousas, a fellow at the German Marshall Fund think tank, who follows Greek affairs. “Greece’s railway infrastructure was underfunded, insufficiently — and, at times, improperly — staffed and outdated, with problems that successive governments had been warned about but did very little to address.”

Yet Mitsotakis’s government, he argues, has made things worse with its handling of the accident. At first it seemed to pin the blame solely on human error, ignoring the deeper structural and systemic failings, then appearing “to de-prioritise the issue, allowing space for accusations of a cover-up to gain traction”.
Ntousas sees parallels with the fire at Grenfell Tower in west London in June 2017, in which 72 people died.“Like Grenfell, people saw themselves in the victims’ families,” he added. “Grieving loved ones whose loss felt deeply personal, a tragedy that could have happened to anyone.”
Along with many other Greeks, Karystianou, a paediatrician, was at first ready to accept Mitsotakis’s immediate depiction of the disaster as the result of a “tragic human error”.

The station master in Larissa, near the crash site, allegedly positioned the moveable switch rails, or points, in such a way that the northbound passenger train was wrongly diverted on to the southbound track. Facing multiple charges of homicide and other offences, he reportedly denied he was aware the freight train was heading in the opposite direction down the same track.
Yet details soon began to emerge that have turned the disaster into a symbol of what many Greeks perceive as long-standing systemic failures in safety and accountability. The country is often classified as one of the most corrupt in the European Union, with clientelism a particular problem. Trust in its legal system and media are low. “Of course this was an accident, but it was an avoidable accident,” said Karystianou.
The station master, it soon transpired, had been left to work alone that evening, despite only having taken up the post the previous summer after five months of training. His appointment at the age of 59 — not normally allowed under the rules — had allegedly been facilitated by a highly placed relative.
It has also been claimed that the InterCity 62 would not have been able to have travelled for almost 15 minutes on the wrong track if a €41 million project, partially funded by the EU, to upgrade signalling and other safety systems on the line to European standards had been completed on schedule in 2016.
The project, named Contract 717, remains mired in controversy. Sixteen people have been summoned by the European public prosecutor’s office this month, adding to the 23 who have already been charged with subsidy fraud and other offences tied to the project.
The cause of the fireballs remains a matter of dispute, too. Blame was initially put on silicone that leaked from the generators of the two electric locomotives and was ignited by sparks. There were doubts, however, that this alone would have been enough to generate such a blaze.

A report by Vassilis Kokotsakis, an independent expert hired by Karystianou’s association, suggested the fireballs had been instead caused by highly flammable chemical solvents that appeared to have been carried on the cargo train — though they had not been declared in its manifest. Their presence would also have explained Francesca’s complaint of the lack of oxygen, a phrase that has become a rallying cry of the protests.
A combination of human error, outdated infrastructure and major systemic failures were cited as the causes of the disaster in a damning 180-page official report released on the eve of the anniversary in February. The government said it would respond to the “very serious shortcomings and understaffing and underfunding” but denied claims made by opposition parties that it had hindered the investigation.
No date has yet been set for the trial of those accused of responsibility for the disaster, though the heads of those implicated in the investigation are already beginning to roll.
Kostas Karamanlis, the transport minister, who had been boasting to parliament only days before the crash about the safety of the Greek railway network, swiftly resigned. He was followed last month by Christos Triantopoulos, deputy minister for climate crisis and civil protection, and Vasilis Papageorgiou, general secretary for civil protection, stepped down from their respective posts. All three have denied any wrongdoing.
Karystianou, meanwhile, is pressing on with her campaign, despite vicious attacks on social media that she believes are part of an orchestrated attempt to discredit her, funded by those with links to the ruling party. She also rejects accusations that she intends to use her new-found prominence to launch a political career.
“We are up against the politicians, so we are facing an unfair struggle, because traditionally in Greece politicians are never guilty of anything, and this is the big problem,” she said. “I just want justice to be served and to be sure that something like this will never happen again. I know that’s what my daughter would have wanted.”

Έχει τα λαθάκια του το άρθρο, αλλά γενικώς δεν βγαίνει από την πεπατημένη του να παρουσιάζει την Ελλαδίτσα σαν την Κωλοπετινίτσα των Βαλκανίων, με τις αναμενόμενες παθογένειες (διαφθορά, αχρηστία, κλπ.).

Το να προμοτάρει κάποιος τέτοια φτηνή δημοσιογραφία, και να λέει μετά ότι είναι πατριώτης, είναι σαν πουτάνα που πάει να κοινωνήσει την Κυριακή.
