As expected, August 7 was a very hard day. The Ukrainian army continued its assault in two directions: Korenevo and Sudzha. Both are within 8-9 km from the Ukrainian border.

Sudzha: So far, the town can be considered to be in the gray zone. It is likely to be a lower priority for Ukraine than Korenevo.

Korenevo. Having repulsed a Russian attack from the north, Ukraine sent a reconnaissance group to the vicinity of Korenevo. In the evening, this force, with the help of drones, began to coordinate strikes on Russian positions near this village. On the tactics.

The AFU used a relatively new tactic for themselves when entering the Kursk region. They are using and deploying new "ranger" units and conditionally new units trained under a new scheme.

They recently tested this tactic in the Kharkiv region, and those who saw it signaled about it.
But it received no attention.

What is the essence of this?

The enemy first properly "blows away" the sky from our eyes with UAVs of the aircraft type on their native sector.

Then, under the cover of a fire barrage, they deploy directed electronic warfare assets almost to the front line.

Under the cover of the directed electronic warfare forces, they deploy a huge number of their UAVs. Mavics on non-standard boards shifting the frequency range.
Rifles and electronic warfare are useless.

Under the continuous fire barrage of high-precision FPV drones that come in swarms, they reduce the distance to the positions.

They enter and entrench in empty, dismantled trenches in small groups of 4-6 people under the cover of UAVs.

They move the electronic warfare line forward and repeat the scheme.

Official statement of the Russian Ministry of Defence on the situation in the Kursk region

Units of the Northern Group of the Russian Armed Forces, together with the Federal Security Service of Russia, continue to destroy armed formations of the AFU in the Sudzhensky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, directly on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Throughout the day, active actions of the state border guards together with border guards, reinforcement units and reserves, air strikes, missile forces and artillery fire have prevented the enemy from advancing.

Fire is being used to defeat identified concentrations of AFU personnel and equipment. Attempts by individual units to break through deep into the territory in the direction of Kursk are being thwarted.

Air strikes were carried out against the advancing AFU reserves in the Sumy area.

During the day, the enemy lost up to 400 soldiers and 32 armoured vehicles, including one tank, four armoured personnel carriers, three infantry fighting vehicles and 24 Kozak armoured fighting vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of combat operations in the direction of Kursk, the enemy has lost 660 servicemen and 82 units of armoured vehicles, including eight tanks, 12 armoured personnel carriers, six infantry fighting vehicles, 55 armoured fighting vehicles and one engineer demolition vehicle.

The operation to destroy the AFU formations continues.

Επιτέλους, η Ουκρανία κάνει μια ορθολογική στρατιωτική κίνηση. Το φωνάζω εδώ και ένα χρόνο, πρέπει να χτυπήσει μέσα στο ρωσικό έδαφος και με αεροπορικές και με χερσαίες δυνάμεις. Αν μη τι άλλο, θα της είναι χρήσιμο να κρατήσει μερικά ρωσικά εδάφη εν όψει των διαπραγματεύσεων που θα αρχίσουν μετά τον Νοέμβριο, όταν ο Τραμπ κερδίσει τις εκλογές στις ΗΠΑ.

Αν μπορεί να τα κρατήσει ναι, μεγάλο αν. Επίσης ο Τραμπ αν κερδίσει αναλαμβάνει το 2025.
