Λίγες μέρες πριν την έναρξη του πολέμου του Γιομ Κιπούρ, όπου ένας συνασπισμός αραβικών κρατών επιτέθηκε από 3 μεριές στους ισραηλινούς, ο αμερικανός γερουσιαστής Τζόε Μπάιντεν (ο μετέπειτα αντιπρόεδρος του Ομπάμα) ρώτησε την Γκόλντα Μέϊρ...πως θα τα βγάλετε πέρα αν σας επιτεθούν τόσοι;
-Μην ανησυχείτε κ.γερουσιαστά...έχουμε ένα μυστικό όπλο!
Εκείνος γύρισε και την κοίταξε με πραγματική απορία.
-Ποιο είναι αυτό; την ρώτησε...περιμένοντας να ακούσει για κάποιο πυρηνικό όπλο ή κάτι άλλο.
-Δεν έχουμε που αλλού να πάμε...του απάντησε...χρησιμοποιώντας τη φράση του Στρατηγού Μιλτιάδη πριν τη μάχη του Μαραθώνα!
υ.γ.Ξέρω πως είναι αλήθεια από συνέντευξη του Τζο Μπάϊντεν αλλά δεν μπορώ να βρω link.
Όποιος μπορεί τον ευχαριστώ εκ των προτέρων.

She said, “Senator, don’t look so worried.” She said -- I said, “Well I am, Madam President, and because I just had this hour and a half.” And she said -- she said, “We Israelis have a secret weapon.” And I thought she only had said this to me, no one else in the whole world. She said, “We have a secret weapon in our struggle with the Arabs.” And I thought she was going to tell me about a new secret weapon. (Laughter.) And I found myself turning and looking at her, and the press -- because this was all just a stand-up photo opportunity. And she said, “We have a secret weapon. We have nowhere else to go.”
