'Russia will lose the energy battle,' says IEA chief Fatih Birol

Russia will lose the energy battle it is waging against the West, according to Fatih Birol, the executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
"Just before the invasion [of Ukraine], about 65% of the Russian total gas exports went to Europe and 55% of the Russian oil export went to Europe," Birol told Euronews on Friday afternoon.
"Europe was by far the largest market, the largest client for Russia, and Russia lost this client forever. The biggest client."
"You are not selling onions in the market, you are selling natural gas. It's a different business," Birol said. "So to replace the natural gas exports to Europe with Russia is, in the short term, a pipe dream."

Σχεδόν οι μισοί ενήλικες του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου δυσκολεύονται να πληρώσουν τους λογαριασμούς ενέργειας τους, ανέφερε το Γραφείο Εθνικής Στατιστικής του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου (ONS) σε έκθεση που δημοσιεύτηκε.

Σύμφωνα με το δημοσίευμα, το 45% των ερωτηθέντων που πληρώνουν λογαριασμούς δήλωσαν ότι ήταν «πολύ ή κάπως δύσκολο» να τους αντέξουν οικονομικά, και περίπου το 30% των ατόμων που πληρώνουν ενοίκιο ή στεγαστικά δάνεια είπαν επίσης ότι είχαν δυσκολίες.

Τα στοιχεία ποικίλλουν μεταξύ των διαφόρων πληθυσμιακών ομάδων.

Για παράδειγμα, περισσότερα από τα μισά άτομα με αναπηρία (55%) δυσκολεύονται να πληρώσουν τους λογαριασμούς ενέργειας και το 36% αντιμετωπίζουν προβλήματα με την πληρωμή της στέγασης.

For the first time, Russia appears to be tightening its grip on its LNG industry. Until recently Sakhalin-2 LNG was co-owned by Gazprom (majority owner), Dutch energy company Shell, and Japanese companies Mitsui and Mitsubishi. But on June 30, President Putin signed a decree to transfer rights to Sakhalin-2 LNG to a new Russian company, Sakhalinskaya Energiya. Gazprom is to retain the same majority ownership it held in the previous company. Requests by both Mitsubishi and Mitsui to transfer their stakes to the new operator were approved in August.[17] In contrast, Shell declined to take a stake in the new project operator. It will, however, still be able to receive LNG cargoes from the facility.[18] The Russian energy minister recently said he “expected Novatek to participate in Sakhalin-2,” and the company has confirmed its interest in assessing its participation in the project.[19]

All existing LNG contracts have to be transferred to the new entity operating Sakhalin-2 LNG. As of early September 2022, Gazprom had not asked its LNG importers to switch payments to rubles under the threat of cutting exports (as it has done with some European pipeline importers). It has, however, mentioned this possibility in the past,[20] a scenario that could be particularly challenging for Japan, given its reliance on Russian LNG.

Παρουσιασες ενα γραφημα οπου οι εξαγωγες του ρωσικου ΦΑ μεσο αγωγων προς την EE και το ΗΒ ειναι χαμηλά αλλα στο ιδιο γραφημα ειναι πρωτο το lng ( το πολυ πιο ακριβό lng). Και εχω την απορία αν αυτο το lng ειναι ρωσικό.

η πηγή τού άρθρου που έβαλες είναι άρθρο τής Kommersant που επικαλείται δηλώσεις αξιωματούχου τής ΕΕ χωρίς να δίνει λεπτομέρειες (δεν τις βρήκα αλλού), αλλά ας πούμε ότι ισχύουν.

η απάντηση στην απορία σου, λοιπόν, είναι ότι 17% αυτού τού lng είναι ρωσικό, ποσοστό μειωμένο από 20% πέρσι.

δηλαδή η εισαγωγή από Ρωσία είναι βέβαια αυξημένη, αλλά λιγότερο από όσο είναι αυξημένη η εισαγωγή από άλλες πηγές.

η σύγκριση σε όγκο με πέρσι δεν λέει πολλά (έστω 50% αύξηση που μάλλον δεν) διότι το '21 ήταν σχετικά χαμηλή χρονιά για εισαγωγές lng γενικά.

κατ'αρχάς δεν υπάρχουν κυρώσεις σε αέριο μέσω αγωγών (όπως θα'πρεπε να ξέρετε εσύ και ο ΑΡΔ που το'γραψε). η παροχή διακόπηκε λόγω τού αποτυχημένου εκβιασμού τού Πούτιν.
