Two F-35 fighters of the US-led International Coalition approached dangerously Russian Su-35 fighters in Syria southern airspace.
Deputy director of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kolet, said in a press briefing on Tuesday: “On August 14, between 12:35 and 12:50 [09:35 and 9:50 GMT] in the Al-Tanf area, at an altitude of about 9,100 meters, a dangerous encounter occurred between two F-35 fighters of the coalition and two Su-35 fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces, who were carrying out a planned sortie along the southern Syrian border."
Kolet added that during the last 24 hours, 20 violations of avoidance protocols were recorded in Syria, by fighters and drones of the US-led International Coalition, which flew near the Al-Tanf area.
