On April 25, 1966, a Su-7B fighter-bomber took off from the Vozdvizhenka Air Base (9 km from Ussuriisk). When the aircraft reached an altitude of about 100-150 meters, the engine failed. Right in front of him were residential buildings and a school. The pilot, who had received the order to catapult himself out, remained in the cockpit and was able to steer the plane into an uninhabited area.
The pilot didn't have a chance to think. The hero was buried in the village of Vozdvizhenka, for this act he was posthumously awarded the Order of Lenin. The aircraft colonel's name was Vladimir Surovikin.
5.5 Months later, on October 11, 1966, the colonel's widow gave birth to a son, Sergei, later called by some General Armageddon. In October 2022, he is appointed by Vladimir Putin as the commander of the Russian troop grouping in the special military operation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday (December 1)
