I made this account today to say the following. I am one of the most liberal Greeks you can find. Never voted for a right party, always on the side of imigrands and people in need. I say this so you know how the “least patriotic” Greeks feel about this subject.
I saw comments from some Turkish people that we have same culture, food etc. No we don’t! We respect you as people and we forgave you for the massacres you did to our ancestors but never again think that we have the same culture. Since ancient times we have given democracy to the world, philosophy, art, history we helped in many scientific fields and many more. Turks still treat their women like thrash. Turkish history and culture is based on war and invasions as they do with kurds and syrians as we speak. As they do daily, when their airforce and navy crosses into the greek teritory in the Agean trying to create heat and fish some action there. So please dont even try to bring us down there again.
I see many of you, dont even know what are you talking about. Greece has always promoted peace and democracy. Greece will never attack any country. We just defend our homes. There have been cases of expansive wars but this was in ancient times and the specific case of Alexander. In modern history we only defend and we have to do it every 100 years or so. To answer to misinformative comments about Greece invading some turkish islands … that never happened. If Erdogan’s news channels tell you otherwise start getting information from the web.
Many people here, talk about the scenario of a crazy politician trying to start a war. In May 2020 Turkey has that politician in the name of Erdogan. Less than a month ago and during the times of pandemic he tried to disrupt Greece’s organisation by having the Turkish military and police force bring Syrian imigrants to the borders of Evros. While Greece closed the border, Turkish police forces fired shots and flares to the Greek side and helped the Syrians cross them illegally. Greek forces stayed there for almost 2–3 weeks and repelled every attempt. Turkish forces eventually retreated in shame.
If you think numbers or money will win that war for the Turks then you dont know anything about the Greek soul and I say this that have been called a traitor and non-patriot from many of my fellow Greeks. Imagine the response that you ll get from those that declare they are patriots.
To conclude i wanna put here the words of some leaders that talked about the Greek soul after WWII.
Franklin Roosevelt: “When the entire world had lost all hope, the Greek people dared to question the invincibility of the German monster raising against it the proud spirit of freedom.”
Winston Churchil: “Hence, we will not say that Greeks fight like heroes, but that heroes fight like Greeks.” “If there had not been the virtue and courage of the Greeks, we do not know which the outcome of World War II would have been.”
Hitler: “The Greek soldier, above all, fought with the most courage.”
Joseph Stalin: “We thank the Greek People, whose resistance decided WWII…you fought unarmed and won, small against big…You gave us time to defend ourselves.”

I will also give a link so anyone that wants can see the story of Dimitios Itsios a sergeant that fought the Germans in WWII alone with 2–3 soldiers. They killed about 250 Germans before they run out of ammo. Here is the story in english: Sgt. Dimitrios Itsios | Wiki | World War II Amino Amino
So if you think that you can do it, the youth is here ready to honor the lives of those people that died in the past for us to be free. WE WILL NEVER ATTACK, but if you wanna try to come to our land and mess with our families REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE NOT THE FIRST TO TRY ;)
