Ο ακροδεξιός πρωθυπουργός της Ουγγαρίας, Βίκτορ Όρμπαν κάλεσε σήμερα σε κατάργηση του Ευρωκοινοβουλίου στον απόηχο του σκανδάλου διαφθοράς του Qatargate.
Συγκεκριμένα, ο Όρμπαν δήλωσε ότι το εν λόγω σκάνδαλο στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο έδειξε ότι οι εγγυήσεις κατά της διαφθοράς έχουν «αποτύχει οικτρά».
«Αν θέλουμε να αποκαταστήσουμε τη δημόσια εμπιστοσύνη, είναι καιρός να καταργήσουμε το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο», είπε χαρακτηριστικά. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, ο Όρμπαν πρότεινε τη δημιουργία ενός νέου Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου, που θα αποτελείται από εθνικούς αντιπροσώπους.
«Αυτό εγγυάται μεγαλύτερη εποπτεία, λογοδοσία και αξιοπιστία. Δώστε τον έλεγχο πίσω στα κράτη-μέλη!», τόνισε.
