Κάλφας Βασίλης
Ο Βασίλης Κάλφας είναι καθηγητής φιλοσοφίας στη Φιλοσοφική Σχολή του ΑΠΘ. Ειδικεύεται στην πλατωνική και την αριστοτελική φιλοσοφία και την ιστορία της αρχαίας ελληνικής επιστήμης.
Γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη το 1953. Σπούδασε στη Φιλοσοφική Σχολή του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου, έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στη Γαλλία και επί σειρά ετών δίδαξε Φιλοσοφία στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης.
Είναι επιστημονικός υπεύθυνος της μετάφρασης των Απάντων του Αριστοτέλη στις εκδόσεις Νήσος και το Ίδρυμα Σταύρος Νιάρχος και της συλλογικής ψηφιακής εγκυκλοπαίδειας «Πλάτων» στο ίδρυμα Μείζονος Ελληνισμού.
Είναι μέλος του Δ.Σ. του Μορφωτικού Ιδρύματος της Εθνικής Τραπέζης και του Ινστιτούτου Νεοελληνικών Σπουδών (Ίδρυμα Τριανταφυλλίδη).
Έχει τιμηθεί το 2003 με το βραβείο πανεπιστημιακής διδασκαλίας από τη Σύγκλητο του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης και με το κρατικό βραβείο ενδογλωσσικής μετάφρασης του έτους 2015 για τη μετάφραση των Φυσικών του Αριστοτέλη. Το 2019 τιμήθηκε με το Βραβείο Εξαίρετης Πανεπιστημιακής Διδασκαλίας εις μνήμην Β. Ξανθόπουλου – Στ. Πνευματικού του Ιδρύματος Τεχνολογίας & Έρευνας (ΙΤΕ).
